Born in Kokand, Uzbekistan, Irina Koulikova studied at the St. Petersburg Conservatory and Moscow State University. Irina worked as singer at the St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Opera Theatre until 1993, when she turned all her efforts to painting. In 1995 her career began to take of take off with shows hosted by galleries in Russia, Finland, Germany and France. In 1997, Koulikova moved to Toronto after several trips to North America in order to firmly establish herself as an artist. At present she cooperates with Envers Chapin and Progressive Fine Art Galleries.
