Featuring Giovanni Senisi. This body of work explores the concept of automobiles as “shells” or outer skin for those encased within them. The scars they bear suggest ‘impact’ literally and symbolically and remind us of our strained relationships with the environment and each other. The wrecked car serves as an uneasy, modern vanitas.
