Artscape announced today the appointment of Natasha Mytnowych as the inaugural Managing Director of Artscape Youngplace, effective May 27, 2013. Natasha will be responsible for the overall management and implementation of the vision of this vibrant new cultural centre located at Queen Street West and Shaw Street. Once the facility opens in Fall 2013, it will become the largest cultural institution in West Queen West and Artscape’s fourth building in the neighbourhood.

Artscape is seeking a documentary filmmaker or multimedia producer to work on a commissioned film series. Over a period of 12 to 14 months, content will be developed to provide capacity-building resources to other organizations in the areas of multi-tenant centre development and creative placemaking.

Soi Fischer is now accepting applications for their February 2013 edition of the Thematic Residency Program at Artscape Gibraltar Point. The program offers artists the opportunity to work independently with the mentorship of a visiting professional artist, curator or critic working in international contemporary art.

On the evening of Thursday, November 29, the Artscape Foundation together with Presenting Sponsor The Daniels Corporation hosted Under One Roof, an event to raise funds for Daniels Spectrum in Regent Park. Over $350,000 net was raised for capital and programming needs, successfully capping off the $10 million campaign goal for the centre.
