Artscape announced today the appointment of Natasha Mytnowych as the inaugural Managing Director of Artscape Youngplace, effective May 27, 2013. Natasha will be responsible for the overall management and implementation of the vision of this vibrant new cultural centre located at Queen Street West and Shaw Street. Once the facility opens in Fall 2013, it will become the largest cultural institution in West Queen West and Artscape’s fourth building in the neighbourhood.

Congratulations to Roscoe Handford on being awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for community service! The medal celebrates Queen Elizabeth II’s 60 years on the throne and honours significant contributions and achievements made by Canadians to their country.

On the evening of Thursday, November 29th, the Artscape Foundation together with Presenting Sponsor The Daniels Corporation hosted Under One Roof, an event to raise funds for Daniels Spectrum: a cultural hub in Regent Park. Over $350,000 net was raised for capital and programming needs, successfully capping off the $10 million campaign goal for the centre.

Opened in 1991, Artscape Liberty Village was created in partnership with Toronto Economic Development Corporation. In an open letter to friends, supporters and tenants, Artscape CEO Tim Jones announces that it will close at the end of November.
