David Beckett is one of Canada's leading portrait photographers, particularly well known for his work with children. Spontaneous, fresh and instantly recognizable, Beckett's art inevitably captures the personality of each of his subjects. Working out of his Wallace Avenue studio in central Toronto, Beckett carefully builds a relaxed and playful atmosphere bringing a sense of excitement and collaboration to the session.
Working exclusively in black and white, Beckett hand prints all of his work producing museum-quality silver gelatin prints. The final portrait is testament to his ability to capture the spirit of each individual on film.
